This Propur review features the PMC-3000 countertop water filtration system.
According to Propur, the system removes more than 200 different contaminants that might be lurking in your water and also helps to improve its taste and odor.
The PMC-3000 fits most standard faucets with a removable aerator and installs within minutes – no tools required. An optional adapter for other faucet types is provided by the company.
Furthermore, no cleaning is required as the filter contains neither resins nor beads, but makes use of multiple stages of infused microstructure media (whatever that means).
The main advantage of the Propur PMC-3000 countertop is the sophisticated filtration process. It was thoroughly tested (not certified) against NSF Standard 42 and Standard 53.
Here is an excerpt of the lab report:
The filter reduces or removes
*Propur advises against the use with microbiologically unsafe water without adequate disinfection.
Other advantages are the diverter valve that allows you to easily switch between filtered and unfiltered water for an increased filter lifespan, the BPA & BPS-free plastic tubing and housing, and the 1-year limited warranty on the system + replacement filters.
Like we said, the PMC-3000 installs within minutes. Here is how:
The unit is now ready for use.
Changing the filter cartridge is even easier than hooking up the system in the first place. Simply hold the unit upside-down and unscrew the housing (careful to prevent spilling). Now you can replace the old cartridge with a new one and screw the housing back on. Remember to recondition (see above)
How do you know when to replace the filter?
A reduction in flow rate is a good indicator, or as soon as you notice a change in water aesthetics – think taste or smell.
A good rule of thumb is replacing the filter on an annual basis, although the life expectancy may vary depending on the condition and quality of the feed water and how much water you use per day.

Not much, except that the system seems a bit overpriced and the replacement filters are not exactly cheap either.
The Propur PMC-3000 countertop water filtration system is easy to install and works great providing water of the highest purity. Customers are more than happy with their purchase and so are we! 4.5 stars!
