Again, there’re 3 types of Clearly Filtered filter water bottles:
- Insulated stainless steel bottle – The durable stainless steel filtered water bottle is double-wall insulated to keep 20 ounces of water cold for up to 24 hours. You can choose from different colored designs.
- Tritan bottle – This filtered water bottle is made of medical-grade, BPA-free Tritan plastic and can hold up to 24 ounces of water.
- Borosilicate glass bottle – The glass filtered water bottle holds 20 ounces of water. It’s easier to break than the other two so it requires careful handling and is certainly not ideal for kids.
Stainless steel, Tritan or glass, none of the bottles will ever leach any harmful chemicals into your water. Instead, they use Clearly Filtered’s proprietary Affinity filtration technology (blend of activated carbon and other adsorption filter media) to remove 220+ contaminants from plain tap water. How? You simply suck the water through the integrated filter straw. Say goodbye to:

Maintenance
Like we said, filters should be replaced every 25 gallons which equals 160 fill-ups for the insulated stainless steel as well as the glass water bottle and around 130 fill-ups for the Tritan version.
Speaking of replacement filters, $25 (10% off when you subscribe) per cartridge might seem a bit expensive at first, but when you consider how much bottled water costs they are not that pricey anymore. In fact, one filter will save you up to $50 and more compared to bottled water, even when bought in bulk.
One more aspect regarding maintenance: Both mouthpiece and straw need to be hand-washed and air-dried. The parts are not dishwasher-safe. The same applies to the stainless steel filtered water bottle as a whole.
CF Bottles Cons
One of the few complaints is that it can be a bit hard to drink out of the bottles as you have to suck pretty strongly to get a flow going, similar to drinking a thick milkshake. Some reviewers said that, over time, this can get rather painful. The good news is that the filter should become less restrictive pretty quickly. Also, the filter went through a redesign so that now it should be much easier to get water from.
If your bottle is leaking make sure the silicone ring inside the lid is in the right position. This should solve all issues.
Although not a big deal, you have to remember to keep the bottle in an upright position to make sure the water actually flows through the filter.
