The pH Restore Alkaline Water Pitcher combines water filtration and alkalinization in one convenient package. It has a filtered water capacity of around 8 cups, making it suited for use in 1 to 3-person households. The filter utilizes the proprietary PH001 Ultra Filter Cartridge containing several filter materials, namely:
- Powdered coconut activated carbon, which removes chlorine/chloramine, organic chemicals, and other pollutants such as rust, sand, and silt.
- Ion exchange resin, which removes heavy metals (lead, copper, zinc, arsenic, and other), salts like fluoride, and more.

There’s nothing complicated involved in the maintenance of the pH Restore water pitcher. You simply need to remember to replace the filter cartridge, and wash the pitcher while you’re at it. A handy built-in indicator will tell you when it’s time for a replacement.

The cartridge used by this pitcher – the PH001 Ultra filter cartridge – has an earlier version, the PH001. According to the company, the new model comes with improved speed of filtration and upgraded filter media (multiple membrane filters, upgraded extra-porous carbon powder) for more effective purification (they say up to 15% improvement).
pH Restore Cons
- Higher upfront price than expected.
- No official data backing up any of the health claims about the use of alkaline/low ORP water.
- Alkalinization requires the use of various balls, like ceramic and mineral ones – those take up space that could have been filled with additional filtration media for more effective contaminant reduction.
- There are no contaminant reduction rates provided whatsoever. Also no NSF testing or certification.
- We doubt that filtration is very effective, so we really only recommend this if your water is already quite clean and your main focus is alkaline drinking water with added minerals.
Invigorated Water pH Restore Review: Our Verdict + Best for
The low cost of replacement filters sort of makes up for the higher price of the pH Restore Alkaline Water Filter Pitcher itself. However, we’re not sure of the overall effectiveness of the filtration process, and we only recommend getting this pitcher if you already have relatively clean water, and just want to focus on alkalinization and adding healthy minerals to your drinking water. If, however, you want to remove some serious contamination, then you better go with something else.

The Seychelle Gen 2 Dual pH2O is also an alkaline pitcher just like the pH Restore. It similarly uses ion exchange resin and activated carbon media – however, this model comes with some serious advantages on the filtration front. Specifically, it’s been properly tested against NSF standards 42 and 53, which means it’s pretty much guaranteed to remove at least the following contaminants:
- Chlorine: 90.91%
- Fluoride: 98.6%
- Nitrite: 85.5%
- Nitrate: 97.7%
- VOCs: 99.8%
- PFOA/PFOS: 98-99%
- Arsenic: ~90%
- Aluminum: ~95%
- Chromium: 95-96%
- Lead: 93.5-96%
Each cartridge lasts for up to 150 gallons of water, much more than what the pH Restore offers, and filters are made entirely in the USA. However, the Seychelle Gen 2 Dual pH2O Water Filter Pitcher only comes with a 90-day warranty. It’s also more expensive to maintain in the long run. Some users have also reported minor clogging issues.
Then we have the Clearly Filtered. Note that this is not an alkaline pitcher – but beside that, it’s the best model you can find on the market for numerous reasons.

Bottom line: If you’re primarily concerned with contaminant removal, we’d recommend the Clearly Filtered Pitcher. If you prefer to have alkaline water, then Seychelle Gen 2 Dual pH2O Water Filter Pitcher is a good runner-up. We wouldn’t really recommend the pH Restore over either of these two honestly.
